• Conduct soil and water analyses in support to the interpretation and substantiation of the findings and recommendations of feasibility studies and research programs on proposed and on-going irrigation construction and rehabilitation projects;
• Prepare soil fertility and land classification standards with detailed laboratory analysis and investigatory procedures, for compilation as manuals invaluable as reference by members of research and feasibility study teams;
• Indicate land class and land use extents of ancillary maps or general layouts of design and existing service areas of irrigation systems as bases in setting irrigated area, water allocation and canal dimensions for every irrigation structure;
• Assemble operations and maintenance practices into manuals on soil and water laboratory equipment and apparatus as reference by technicians and researchers in using such in soil and water quality analysis and data interpretation;
• Carryout drainage and economic surveys in design and existing irrigated areas in support to the land classification and irrigation suitability subcomponents of feasibility studies for irrigation construction and rehabilitation projects;

• Evaluate reconnaissance survey of national project preparatory in establishing triangulation and/or transverse network;
• Review computation of transverse, side slot and differential levelling network and plotting of computed data for the preparation of map manuscript;
• Assist in the establishment of geodetic control, topographic survey, profiling and cross-sectioning of irrigation canals and types of survey works including transverse and a level network, astronomic/tidal observation; and
• Perform other related functions.

• Develop technical and informational profiles of vital infrastructure like dam and reservoir facilities, irrigation and drainage systems, flood and rainfall forecasting facilities, and data and information processing systems compiled as techno-guides;
• Prepare training and homepage materials on dam and reservoir condition monitoring and assessment, spillage and flood episode forecasting and monitoring, and typhoon and storm occurrence tracking and forewarning;
• Organize training and orientation modules aimed at enhancing the capabilities of the staff in dam and reservoir complexes, flood forecasting and forewarning stations, and in-house information processing and communication centers;
• Issue reservoir and flood bulletins in appropriate frequency and media during critical period in particular to keep the public forewarned of imminent threat and reminded of measures to take to avert or lessen possible devastation;
• Prepare design and specifications manuscripts with typical layouts and engineering drawings for a manual on instrumentation for irrigation and drainage systems, dam and reservoir complexes, and data processing and communication centers;
• Perform other related functions.

• Assist in the preparation of preliminary/conceptual drawings of the architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, sanitary plans and other detailed drawings;
• Prepare necessary as-built plans and details in Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) including plotting and printing under forced account works/completed projects under GSD, AD;
• Undertake/edit presentation of charts, graphs, tables, reports, standards and other illustrative drawings;
