NIA Conducts Training on Web Migration

The National Irrigation Administration (NIA), through the Management Information Division (MID) in partnership with Wattsavers, successfully conducted a two-day Training on Website Migration from Drupal to WordPress on August 27–28, 2025.The training was participated in by Information Technology personnel from all NIA Regional Offices nationwide, aiming to enhance their technical skills and prepare for the agency’s transition to a more user-friendly, secure, and efficient web platform.Topics covered during the session included migration best practices, content management, data security, customization, and the optimization of WordPress features to support NIA’s digital transformation efforts. Practical hands-on activities were also provided to ensure that participants could directly apply their learnings.This initiative reflects NIA’s continued commitment to strengthening its digital infrastructure and advancing its online services for the benefit of stakeholders and the general public....

NIA Region XII Breaks Ground for New 3-Storey Steel Parking Facility

Koronadal City, South Cotabato – August 13, 2025. The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) – Regional Office XII officially marked another milestone in its infrastructure development as it held the groundbreaking ceremony for a soon-to-rise 3-storey steel parking facility beside its main office in Koronadal City. The ceremony was led by Regional Manager Engr. Diosdado A. Rosales, together with the Division Managers of the Regional Office, the South Cotabato–Sarangani Irrigation Management Office, and various Section Heads. Their presence highlighted the collective support and unity behind the project, underscoring NIA XII’s dedication to improving workplace efficiency and public service delivery. More than just a structural addition, the upcoming facility is envisioned to significantly enhance convenience, accessibility, and service efficiency for both employees and visiting stakeholders. By addressing the growing parking challenges within the compound, the project demonstrates NIA XII’s proactive and responsive leadership in creating a better working environment. Marcos, Jr. ang awarding ceremony para sa One-Stop Action Center for Strategic Investments (OSAC-SI) o ang "Gawad Bayanihan sa Pamumuhunan: Making It Happen with a Whole-of-Nation Strategy" noong ika-13 ng Marso 2025 sa Malacañang Palace Ceremonial Hall. Pinarangalan ng Board of Investments (BOI) ang National Irrigation Administration (NIA) at si Administrator Engr. Eddie G. Guillen dahil sa kanilang natatanging kontribusyon sa matagumpay na implementasyon ng Executive Order No. 18, na nagtatakda ng “green lanes for strategic investment” kaugnay ng Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018 (RA 11032). PBBM, NIA FAST-TRACKS JRMP-II IMPLEMENTATION

NIA Central Office – NIA Administrator Engr. Eddie G. Guillen participated in the Regional Development Council (RDC) VI Meeting, which was presided over by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. on February 13, 2025 during his visit in Iloilo City. The meeting underscored the importance of advancing critical infrastructure projects and addressing the region’s development needs. It focused on key projects, including the P19.698-billion Jalaur River Multipurpose Project – Stage II (JRMP-II). Located in Calinog, Iloilo, JRMP-II is the first large-scale reservoir outside Luzon.  As of December 2024, the project recorded an overall physical accomplishment of 76.94 percent. It includes the construction of three dams: a 109-meter-high dam, a 38-meter afterbay dam across the Jalaur River, and a catch dam in Alibunan River, which are all substantially completed. Upon completion by December 2026, JRMP-II is expected to provide year-round irrigation water supply to 9,500 hectares of new irrigable areas and rehabilitation of 22,340 hectares of agricultural land in the Province of Iloilo, benefitting 25,000 farmers and their families.
